Temporomandibular Joint Disorders
special therapy unit

At the Physioclock Advanced Physiotherapy Center, a special unit for the treatment of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, Orofacial Pain and Headache, due to the jaw, has been created, and operates for the first time in Greece, in a physiotherapy center.

Ioannis Mysiris and Dr. Asimakis Kanellopoulos completed in 2019 the first research study by Greek physiotherapists that studied a specialized kinesiotherapy program in patients with temporomandibular joint disorders, osteoarthritis and muscular etiology. The research involved a comparative clinical study and lasted 2.5 years.

In our Center, in collaboration with the doctor (dentist, orthodontist, stomatologist, oral-maxillofacial surgeon, orthopedist) who monitors you, we apply the appropriate clinical examination (DC/TMD) that should be used in these situations in order to categorize the type of problem you face in your oral system.

Then we create the individualized therapy plan that the patient follows. A conservative treatment of people with temporomandibular joint syndrome, which includes special physiotherapy procedures, seems to have excellent results.
